Information Session on Capital Campaign and Elevator Progress-Sept. 13
There will be an information session following each service in Heritage Hall regarding the possibility of a Capital Campaign and the progress of our elevator, sanctuary flooring and stained glass art restoration projects. Specific details regarding costs, timeframe and scope of these projects will be presented. Please come and participate in these sessions in order to make an informed decision the following week at the Special Congregational Meeting at 10:00 a.m. between the worship services.
Volunteer Appreciation-Sunday Sept. 13
Thank you St. Mark’s volunteers! Please join in celebration of all the volunteers who contribute to the success of St. Mark’s ministries, committees and our community. The dedication, generosity, time and talents of our volunteers are greatly appreciated and their contributions are vital to sustain and grow our community. Please plan to attend services on September 13 when special recognition and thanks will be given to our volunteers and we will celebrate their contributions. Cake will be provided at the coffee hours and we hope you can join in fellowship and gratitude following the services.
Note: We will not be participating in “God’s Work Our Hands” on this Sunday.
Congregational Meeting-Sept. 20
The council has called a Special Congregational Meeting to have the congregation decide on whether to approve a three year Capital Campaign. If the congregation decides to move forward with a campaign, once the pledges are received, we will be in a better position to assess our ability to fund our much needed capital projects in the sanctuary, prioritize these projects, and pursue additional funding. Please come and make your vote count! Note, the meeting is in between services (10:00 a.m.) in the sanctuary.

Please join in a celebration of German heritage and community at the annual St. Mark's Oktoberfest on Sunday, October 4 from 12 noon -3pm on St. Mark's square! There will be German music, food and libation, games, a bouncy house and great fun. Lederhosen and German dress are encouraged. All are welcome and we ask that youplease RSVP on the sign-up sheet in Heritage Hall. Over the Moon
On Thursday, September 17 at 4 pm, Chanticleer, the world renowned male a cappella vocal group, will again hold the final dress rehearsal for their season opening program at St. Mark's. The Over the Moon program will be open to members and friends of St. Mark's and to residents of Martin Luther Tower.

Lands of Luther trip still has room for more!
Join Pr. Elizabeth and Pr. Hans for an 11 day excursion to the hear of Luther's Germany, Oct. 30 - Nov. 9.
We have 26 participants signed up and there is room for more. Our faith will come alive and our appreciation for Luther's contributions to the world will deepen through exploring "Luther Country". Founders' Day at PLTS
Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary will be having a Founder's Day celebration with guest speaker Madeline Forell Marshall. Madeline Forell Marshall is a specialist in eighteenth-century literature who has sought to recover the religious dimension and context of eighteenth-century poetry in books and numbers of presentations and articles. Women's Monthly Study Gatherings
All women are welcome to come and study together at our evening and/or morning Women of the ELCA Gatherings. In September our groups will meet on:

All women are invited to come for study at 11:00 and then at noon to eat their sandwich or salad and share fellowship. Drinks and dessert will be provided. This year our focus will be on Slow Faith by Liv Larson Andrews and our program topic for September is "Sabbath Keeping"

ULC Auditorium Closed September 5 through September 7
Please note that the 2nd floor of the ULC building will be closed so the tile floor can be cleaned and resealed. The Auditorium, the Auditorium Lobby, the ULC Kitchen, and the hallway outside the Fireside Room will also be closed off. The area will be closed beginning at 11:30am, Saturday, September 5 through 11:30am, Monday, September 7. Donate Flowers in 2015
The 2015 Flower donation chart is posted in the hallway across from the church kitchen. St. Mark's members and friends can sign up to donate flowers for the chancel on a Sunday by placing your name on the chart for the Sunday you wish. Your donation can be in memory of a loved one or in honor of a particular occasion. The donation is $50 and can be paid via check in the offering plate. Please note "Flowers" in the memo of the check.
