ELEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST
Apparently not satisfied by Jesus’ feeding of thousands, some who were there press him for a sign of his power; perhaps it is daily manna they want. As always in John’s gospel when people want a sign, Jesus offers himself. He is the bread come from heaven to give life to the world. He calls us to come to him and believe in him, and through that relationship to know the one who sent him.

THE STUDY OF THE BOOK OF JEREMIAH CONTINUES THIS SUNDAY
Take advantage of this summer opportunity and come to the Adult Forum this Sunday, August 5, for the last forum of Pastor Ron’s 3-week presentation and examination of the Book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah is a prophet for our time as he was an outspoken critic of the kings who did what was evil in the sight of God. His prophetic ministry spanned some 44 years and the reigns of 6 rulers of Judah. This Sunday, Pastor Ron will delve into the writings of Jeremiah to gain a fuller understanding of the challenge that Jeremiah had to face as well as the content of his message. We will meet in the Fireside Room from 10 – 10:50.

DONATE TO LUTHERAN DISASTER RESPONSE
A rage of more than a dozen wildfires has consumed parts of California in recent months, with one of the most ferocious in recent history erupting in Northern California. The explosive Valley fire has led to at least one death, displaced more than 10,000 residents and destroyed hundreds of homes.
Lutheran Disaster Response, working with the Sierra Pacific Synod and Lutheran Social Services of Northern California, is monitoring the situation and communicating with those impacted. We stand ready to provide assistance in the long-term recovery efforts once the fires subside. Together, we can provide immediate and long-lasting support.
