Wednesday Nights

6:00 p.m. Dinner

All are welcome to join us for a community dinner in Heritage Hall prior to worship prepared by our own Cordon Bleu-Paris-trained chef, Dean Atkinson.

6:45 p.m. Worship with Holy Communion

You are invited to give yourself a gift in the middle of your week.  This worship service will refresh you and leave you with a sense of calm and security.  You will be fed through the singing, quiet contemplation of scripture, and the Lord's Supper.  In our peaceful sanctuary lit with candles, you will feel God's presence more closely and trust more deeply that you are God's beloved child.  We invite you to come and be fed by this 30 minute service each and every week.

St. Mark's is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The ELCA has nearly 10,500 local congregations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. There are 65 synods throughout the ELCA - we belong to the Sierra Pacific Synod. The Bishop of our synod is Bishop Mark Holmerud. The Presiding Bishop of the ELCA is Bishop Mark Hanson. The national office of our churchwide organization is in Chicago.

St. Mark's is a congregation celebrating 160 years of active ministry in San Francisco. We have ministries for adults, seniors, youth and children. We hope you will worship at St. Mark's at your earliest convenience. Our worship of God is enriched by your presence.

Join Us for Worship

St. Mark's Lutheran Church is faithful to the heritage of evangelical catholic worship we have inherited. We seek to harmonize the traditions of the past with ongoing, Spirit-led renewal. We find strength in the ecumenical creeds, calendar, and lectionary. The weekly Eucharist is the foundation of our community: the Gospel, proclaimed from the pulpit and shared at Christ's table, is the lifeblood of our congregation.

CELEBRATION OF ST. MARK'S HISTORY, FEB 20

On Saturday, February 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the Urban Life Center Auditorium, we will be holding a special evening of memories and fellowship as we reflect on St. Mark's historical roots, and come together as a community to better understand how the past has helped shape who we are today.  Dinner will be an old-fashioned, Lutheran potluck!  Check the Parish Announcements for details.
